Man Sends Police on 10 Mile Chase

A 23-year-old man from Bemedji, Ty Justin Andree, led police on a 10-mile chase before being arrested on several charges, including possession of a stolen weapon. The police attempted to stop Mr Andree’s vehicle after they determined that it had possibly been used in the robbery of a liquor store in Detroit Lakes. Mr Andree fled to avoid capture, and the police followed, eventually stopping the vehicle by using spike strips. The suspect got out of the vehicle, brandishing a shotgun, and stole one of the police vehicles to continue the chase. The squad car was also eventually disabled by the spike strips. Mr Andree was taken into custody and treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
