Mother Arrested For Parental Kidnapping
Legal cases involving family are often the most difficult for all involved, especially when children are involved. Emotions can get the better of someone, causing them to say or do things they will later regret. Many legal difficulties arise from just such times, requiring the intervention of a qualified defense attorney.
A 5-year-old boy went missing from his Belle Plaine home in early March, but was soon located safely with his non-custodial mother, according to the Sheriff’s Office in Scott County. The boy was to be returned to his custodial father.
The 29-year-old mother was arrested by the Owatonna Police Department. According to authorities, the mother had a court order allowing her to visit her son that Saturday afternoon. After that, she drove away with him in her blue Pontiac Grand Prix.
The police expressed relief that the case was resolved so quickly and without further conflict. They are continuing to investigate the abduction.
