St. Paul Man Charged with 2 Attempted Robberies

Anyone charged with a crime in the United States has the right to the best defense that can be found. Innocent until proven guilty is more than just a saying — it’s how justice should always work. Having a good attorney can ensure a trial is as fair as possible, whatever the charges, from a misdemeanor to multiple felonies.

A 28-year-old St. Paul man is facing two charges of robbery, after surveillance video appeared to show him being kicked in the face by an intervening customer.

The first robbery attempt took place at a Corner Gas on Larpenteur Ave, according to police. The suspect drew a butcher knife and forced the clerk to open the register. When the clerk pressed the silent alarm button and informed the suspect, the suspect fled, leaving the money behind.

Less than half an hour later, police were called to a robbery in progress at a pharmacy. Once more, the suspect demanded money from a clerk. Witnesses say a customer intervened in that robbery by jumping on the counter and kicking the robber in the face. The suspect still managed to escape, this time with more than $100 in cash. The kick in the face, however, forced him to drop his phone, which the police later used to locate him.

The robberies were not the only crimes he was being sought for — he also faced two felony warrants: one for check forgery and another for counterfeiting fraud. If convicted, he could be in prison for up to ten years and/or have to pay a fine of $17,500.

Very few cases are simple to prosecute or defend. Each one of them is unique, with its own set of legal circumstances. This is why a good attorney is so necessary.
